I LUV the missouri DMV

OK so things are moving along with trying to get Kendra's drivers license. We have had SOOO many issues with the GA DMV.. I am ready to go off on them. I have heard the one in our town is horrible, but that the one in Savannah is better.. so I might try and take Kendra there.

Anywho.. I called the Missouri DMV to ask them how I get a certified copy of Kendras driving record. She knew I was calling from GA because I guess this is the only state that requires it. She also said they have had ALOT of problems with GA. She pulled up Kendras info, to include the fact that I just had the stuff faxed to me last week. She said she would put together everything she can think of, and extra stuff.. so that every area is covered and we shouldnt need anything else. She asked me for a good phone number incase she needed to get back in touch with me.

Well about an hour later she called me to update me on the status. She told me she got stuff together. Was getting a letter written.. and updating address info. She said EVERYTHING will be certified, and she was trying to get everything in the mail by their last mail pickup of 2pm..

Well alittle while later she calls again, and tells me she didnt make it in time for the 2pm pickup, but everything is ready and ready to be mailed and will be sent out first thing in the AM and we should have it in a copy of days :)

they were super nice and I miss the state of Missouri!

Family Updates

I will start with myself for a change:
I am good. I have been taking ALL of my meds every day.. and feeling pretty good. My goal is to give it until June, and if June rolls around, and I still feel this way, with no major drops, we will know these are the right meds for me :) I am working LOTS and LOTS. We are very short handed and they are in a hiring freeze.. so even though we are losing people, they are not bringing anyone in. So I am getting about 44 hours a week.. which makes 8 hours of over time per paycheck. Nothing else really going on with me other then work, home, sleep..

JR: Jr was gone to the field a week, home a week, gone to Florida for training for a week.. now for the next 2 weeks he will be out and about .. wont have a steady schedule. He is good. His body is showing signs of 17 years of military ware and tear.. his feet have problems his knees are having problems.. he is just getting old.. HAHA.. (are we REALLY in our upper 30's???). They have changed his meds around too and he seems to be enjoying things more. Kendra finds him absolutley nutty.. but I think she loves it..LOL

Kendra: We are STILLLLL working on getting her damn drivers license. I am going to kill the local DMV.. I talked to the Missouri DMV today and she was AWSOME and was going to get the stuff I need in the mail ASAP. SO hopfully here soon, Kendra will have her license. It will really help me out ALOT.. Her boyfriend is in Missouri. They have been dating for afew months, long distance. He is having some home issues.. and coming up here soon might not have anywhere to live. They (kendra and him) have asked if he could move in with us, until he is able to join the military. He is currently employed and also working on getting his GED. He says he will continue to work and get schooling done. WHat a hard choice. How can we say NO.. this sounds similar to Jr moving in with my mom and I. And how can we say no to someone, who needs/wants support in his life. Of coarse there would be major rules.. (kendra thinks they could share a room with bunk beds.. I quote "Ive always wanted bunk beds".. yeah and I said "yes you and jenna can have bunk beds. " LOL SO I will keep you posted on that.

Mycah is well. He is in counsling once a week. It is going ok. His dr who give him meds is supposed to change what he is taking, but we havent seen him recently because they had to cancel. The military ball was this weekend. He did not have a date and was very bummed. He cried and was not happy there, but he did not call for a ride home, although he could have. He was hurt and did not have a good time. But once home, he said he IS glad he went, but next year he would not go unless he had a date!! He is doing AWSOME with being honest with me. There are some topics that have been awkward for him and I, but we have talked about them, he has told me the truth about stuff.. and food.. food is still an issue. Now that he is being honest about stuff, the next step is to work on him NOT DOING STUFF..

Jenna:we are almost done with her 6 month cerfew.. we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. March 23.. she can offically stay out past 6pm. BUT I think we will stick with that for awhile. She needs to eat dinner and shower (she NEVER comes in the house clean..lol) so 6pm is perfect.

All the kids are still doing good in school. Mycah would be the only one I would be worried about but I have not heard anything from his teachers... so I have to guess all is well.

shaving

forgot to tell everyone.. mycah has decided to start shaving.. he was starting to get a mustache.. and it was still light, but yet somewhat noticeable.. well I guess afew days ago he took it upon himself to shave it off.. I noticed afterschool.. I asked him about it. He said he did.. I asked if he used shaving cream he said no.. so I guess I will have to sit him down and tell him how to do it correctly. Why do the things with him always happen when Jr is gone??

9 year old

Gosh, I just dont know where to begin.

Last night jenna asked if she could pretend she was cooking.. I was like ok what ever.. so she gets the flour, sugar, salt, a bowl, some water, spoons.. and she is mixing away.. she asks where the vanilla is..LOL.. she is playing nicley at the table.. she then asks where the food coloring is.. LOL.. she had a great time.

Today she asked if her friend could come in the house and play with the home made playdo.. I told her give me 10 minutes, so she went back outside. I sped cleaned up some.. got the table super clean, got out the cookie cutters and everything.. all was nice and neat and clean. Her friend dominique (a boy) came in with her.. everything was good. She had one color he had another.. jenna did not want to mix the colors she made so I set the rule.. no mixing colors..

then the door bell rings, it is dominiques little brother caden who is like 7 i think.. then door bell again, its her best friend Rahja.. so.. so STUPID ME who never lets kids in the house says ok.. 20 minutes but everyone has to leave by 630pm.. I go to head up stairs to escape the noise.. (is this mistake #1??).. but before I go I say.. NO mixing colors, and no being bossy.. (is this mistake#2??) I guess what I never said was.. do not throw flour..

I hear some yelling and pissy fitting.. and I hear Jenna tell someone to leave.. Rahajs dad comes to get her and so I go down to check on jenna and she is clearly upset.. I asked what was wrong and she says dominique made a mess (i can see flour and dough lightly in her hair.. umm ok, its not bad, she can shower)..

so I go into the kitchen and I see a sink full of stuff COVERED in dough.. not just dishes, but the water faucet, the counter, the floor.. there were globs on the floor!! so I see the table.. OMFG what the F**** is this HUGE mess.. oh it was terrible.. I wish I would have gotten a pic before I cleaned it up.. I did get a pic of the sink..

as I was cleaning the table up, i noticed my shelf.. UGH.. 2 of my bookshelves are covered in flour.. 3 door knobs in the house are caked with dried dough.. the table, the floor, 2 towels, the legs of the table..

So I spent the next hour or so cleaning.. I had forgotten to take my meds the last week.. and I took them today.. good thing as I stayed calm, through a long, rough cleaning time..

i hate the DMV

OK I am so tired of the DMV here. We have had nothing but trouble since November. First we went in to see what all we needed to get Kendras drivers license in GA.. being that her permit was from Missouri. The man was nice, told us what was needed.. gave us a piece of paper with the stuff highlightted and the parents driving handbook to fill out. I double checked.. I thought we needed the drivers record.. he said no.. but he did give me the information on the drug and alcohol class kendra had to attend.

SO Kendra spent a whole saturday in a classroom.. and we got ALL of the forms.. and headed back to the DMV to do a walk in appointment, because she does not have a GA permit.. so she could not get an appointment...

The lady tells us that we need her drivers record.. I tell her the last guy said we DID NOT need it.. she said the drug and alcohol class was not needed.. GRR he said it was.. freaking A..

So we left, pissed off.. ok so again I have a new list of what is needed and it is high lighted. Kendra gets all of her forms ready. I fax a letter to get her drivers record. An extra $.50 to get it faxed back to me.. so we go in today..

yeah guess what.. it has to be certified.. HELLO no where does it say that. I am arguing with the lady.. she even pulls up the website and it DOES NOT SAY IT ANYWHERE.. she calls a supervisor at another location because hers stepped out.. they tell her yes, because kendra is a minor it has to be certified..

NO WHERE DOES IT SAY THIS ANYWHERE>. she can NOT find it in writting either.. I was pissed.. I got a number to call to complain..

so again we left.. with another list of high lighted items.. lets see if next time it is correct

The week and weekend

Its been afew days since I have written, so here I go.

Jr was gone a week in the field, he came home on Sunday and was right back to work Mon-Saturday and he left again 430am for another week. He should be home on Saturday where Sunday he turns around and goes back to the field on and off for about 2 weeks. No clue what times and what dates but basically totally non reliable for afew weeks.LOL..

Back tracking..

Friday night I decided it was date night, actually I decided it afew days before, that Friday night was date night.. I asked Jr if he wanted to plan it or if he wanted me to.. he said I could.. BLAH.. ok.. so I did.. We have not had a FUN date night in forever. Yeah we have done the dinner thing alot, and in Missouri we even went to the movies.. so I was looking for something different. After talking to afew people I had the idea.. and we drove to Savannah and we went to the Family Fun Center. We first rode the go carts. They had 3 tracks and we went with the rough and tough fast track. It was an Oval high bank track, and you HAD to be at least 62 inches and a licensed driver. OK it was fun.. Went around afew times, was just Jr and I.. then my go cart crapped out on me.. and the guy could not restart it.. so he had JR push me around the track and back into the lot and I got in a new one.. around and around we went. Taking turns as lead cars.. it was fun, different.. and OMG we were in pain when we got done.LOL.. my neck.. oh my neck.. will not do oval coarse again.. too much to the left. to the left.. I want a figure 8 or road coarse so I can turn more then one way.

After that we went mini golfing. Have not done that since Summer of 04. Swore I would NEVER EVER take the kids again and I havent!!and I wont.. well maybe one at a time but never as a family! I kicked Jrs butt.. HAHA.. but again.. FUN FUN FUN..

Then we went to Olive Garden where I said I was only going to get the salad and bread sticks.. UGH I had to look at the menu though and went with some shrimp.. yeah shrimp in alfredo sauce..LOL SO GOOD..

from there we did Starbuck. My favorite one in Savannah.. We have one on base now, but no one compares to my Savannah location!! YUMMY

Saturday JR and I both had to work, but as soon as we got off work, we changed and we headed out again. This time to the Monster truck Rally in Savannah. Mycah was not thrilled with going. In missouri we had taken the kids to the dirt track where they had car races and stuff.. Mycah was bored out of his mind there.. well we learned one thing after the monster trucks.. MY LOVES THEM. He had a great time. Jenna and Mycah got to take a ride in a big ole truck too. They loved it. There were 5 or 6 trucks/cars to watch during the show. They took turns jumping a small jump, then they went over a pile of cars. Then they competed 2 at a time against each other. All of this before intermission (where we left). Mycah laughed and smiled. There was a guy talking most of the time being very funny.. Mycah said he DEFINATLY wants to go back. HE was bummed we had to leave early and asked if we could leave him there and he would sleep on the bleachers and we could come back for him the next day..HAHA..

Jenna was a whole other story.. we all know Jenna.. wild and crazy kid that she is. First off she was VERY VERY into the cars before it even started. The girl FINALLY has a part of me in her. She is 99% JR and I always wondered if there was anything that her and I would relate to.. (sh wont let me do her hair, dress her cute.. ugh she is a tom boy).. until Saturday night.. when she informed me of her love of the MUSTANG (not the horse.. well shoot maybe the horse too).. she told me she wants a white mustang with shiney rims..LOL..she was on her feet most of the time watching.. making bets on who would win.

Part of the show included little kids on dirt bikes racing. Again on her feet watching. She actually walked down to the bottem and watched close up.. she has informed me.. "You can get me one of those for easter".. refering to the bike.. this girl could not sit still watching. She loved it all..

Jr Kendra and I had a good time too..lol

So JR left out early. I was off sunday and we got alot of cleaning done. Weather is GREAT .. middle 80s perfect.

So.. I work the rest of the week.. kids have school..

random

well its 130am and I thought I would blog some random stuff.

1)I was price quoting insurance to see what it will be when Kendra gets her license..WHOLEY COW.. right now she is on our insurance as a permit driver.. we pay around $135 per month for 2 cars full coverage.. blah blah blah.. when she gets her actual license.. it goes to $340 a month FREAKIN A.. omg ..ugh.. can she have her permit forever????

2) Jr was gone for a week in the field. He came home Sunday morning, and will be home for a week, and then he is leaving again for Florida for a week.. seems like we arent seeing much of each other either, I worked on Sunday the day he came home, then I have worked nights Mon, Tues, Wed and I will tomorrow too.. We will be together Friday and Sat nights..

3) Kendras math is DEFINATLY getting harder. I think she is in Algebra 2.. and she is working with imaginary numbers.. what the ...??? how can there be a number if it is imaginary.. Luckily I work with a guy who is smart in math (he is also in med school) and he has done math tutoring before, and he was willing to meet up with Kendra tonight and go over what she was working on, to help he understand alittle better..

4) Jenna is well. She is really wanting to learn to write in cursive. She can do her name and words that have the same letters as her name.. so I have been writting some letters on her dry erase board and making dotted letters for her to trace.. she is having fun with it. She just got done with statewide testing at school this week. Her teacher said she was doing a very good job at getting the test done.. Afew years ago Jenna was diagnosed with ADHD.. and boy is that a true fact!! She was on meds that year.. well she went off them that summer and we never put her back on the meds. Her teacher that next year worked well with her and then this year too, her teacher is very understanding and works well with Jenna.. she is not taking meds but she is doing great. She still has her moments and luckily she knows what she needs to do to get her work done. Sometimes she will move her desk off into a corner to focus. The teacher gives her things to do like she is in charge of taking the plants outside and watering them. Anyways.. she did great on getting done with the test in a timley manner. I went to eat lunch with her one day and I noticed her name was on the HIGH HONORS list in the hallway of the school. It lists all of the kids school wide. There was one catagory higher then the one she was on.. kinda like a deans list of like 100%. she did not make that.. but was on the nest list, which was not a very long list.. YEAH JENNA.. she said she is also the smartest kid in her class for science.

Kendra went to talk to the counclers about her grades and credits ..etc since we moved from Missouri with a stop in Tenn.. and then on to here.. TN only gave her 4 credits because they only had 4 classes.. but she did Sept- April 1 in missouri ALMOST a whole year.. of 8 classes.. she was not getting credit for 4 of those classes.. so they looked everything over and figured her stuff out and she is right on track now. She is still taking a 9th grade science class and next year she will have to repete 9th grade geography (even though she did it in Missouri) but other then that.. her credits are on schedule and she should be able to follow through with her nursing goals.. she continues to get A's

Mycah is well.. still struggeling with his depression.. and ADHD.. we are getting ready to change up his meds. Not sure what the dr has in mind, but since his are no longer working we need to do something. One DR actually suggested we look into the gastric bypass surgery for mycah. I was shocked and unsure about how I felt about that.. still not sure. I think I would like to try some other stuff first before I even bring that topic up to his regular DR. I need to see is Priscilla can send us a copy of a CD for Mycah to listen to.. :)
