We all had a nice morning, the kids did not get a ton but they got enough. I think they are very happy with the stuff they got. We are all just glad to be together this year. We dont know what will be next year. JR will probably be over seas again. My dad would really like for me and the kids to come to AZ with my siblings and their families, but who knows what will be going on 365 days from now..

Christmas day

Well its almost 5pm, I am getting ready to start dinner.. alittle late I would say.. looks like we arent eating until like after 7..LOL.. oh well.. nothing else to do.

The kids have been playing Wii all morning.. Jr is included in "the kids". Every time someone else is playing.. he jumps around saying "let me play let me play".. he couldnt handle waiting his turn when Kendra and I were playing a game.. he's worse then the kids.

Jenna got a skate board.. she had never riden one before and after using it for awhile, she has become better. Of coarse as with the Wii.. she has to fight JR for the skate board too..LOL.. one of her best friends across the street got a skate board also.. and they have ramps (there are 4 kids in the family) so give it some times and I am sure she will be doing ramps.

Christmas Eve

Well the night has finally arrived. Christmas Eve. Kids are laying down.. except Kendra who just walked up behind me. I worked this evening. They closed early, but I still didnt get out of there too early. But finally made it home. I am tired and ready for bed. Only afew more things to do!! Hope everyone is having a nice holiday season.

Christmas Break & update

The time is upon us. This is the last day I have to wake up this early to get the kids ready for school, until Jan 7th!! They are going to be out almost 3 weeks. Today is their last day. Jenna is taking some games with her, I guess they are having a game day. Yesterday was the last day of tests for Kendra and Mycah. Today is just a make up day for any students who missed a day of tests. Yesterday they could leave school at 1130 with a parents note.. so Kendra was like YES please.. so I picked her up early. Mycah wanted to stay.. Today Kendra is staying home since she has nothing to do at school.. Mycah is going, because he will be bored at home... LOL

Today is my day off, but I have to go in to work for at least an hour. My manager has a meeting and she needs someone to cover for her until she is done with her meeting. Tomorrow morning I have to go in at 5am, because the store opens early and I have to get the cashiers money ready for them. But I get off at 2pm.. so then I have the rest of Sat off and Sunday off.

And this weather.. OMG It is supposed to be 80 today. We are expected to break record highs today.. UGH whats up with this.. but by Sunday it is supposed to be back to like 55 as a high.

this was the first family that broke my heart. This little girl and her mom, alone. THe poor little girl.. her mom trying to be strong yet she was crying too. There was another family that I did not get a picture of that brought Kendra and I to tears.. We will never forget this special memorable day.

Wreaths 4 Warriors Walk

Today is the day all around the country wreaths are laid on graves and memorials for our fallen soldiers. That includes placing wreaths at the memorial trees here on base. Mycah got to participate with JROTC and Jr Kendra and I went also to watch. We had the chance to lay a wreath also. I took lots of pics today. Some people I did not know I just liked the picture.

Im dreaming of a white Christmas..!!

OK so I am learning the only white christmas I will have is if we go to the beach and I look at the sand!

The weather these last few days has been humid and in the middle 70's.. UGH whats up with that.. There was a little excitment last week when we got up to go to work and school and it was COLD outside and OMG there was actual frost on the ground.. I even had ice on my windshield and had to run my car for awhile before I left for work!

But here we are again.. another warm day. Yes yes I know everyone who is cold and has snow hates it.. I dont want to be somewhere where we get TONS of snow.. I just like alittle..kinda like in missouri, we never got a ton, but it was pretty.

Christmas Parade

Tonight was the local Christmas Parade in town. Mycah was in it with his high schools JROTC. He got to carry a state flag. Here are some pictures:

Low Iron

I didnt know if I mentioned this or not. I had my blood drawn back in Oct and a DR finally contacted me and left me a voice mail that my iron was really low. I tried calling them back but the nurse was not in the office. Well I got a letter in the mail with a Prescription. I have severely low iron. They have written me a prescription for a medicine to takeevery single day for 30 days. They I have to wait 2 months and have my blood drawn again to see what my levels are at.

I was shocked to see that my B12 levels were not low.. I hadnt had my shot since May.. and I was taking it every month. Well I was looking Anemia up online and found out that lack of B12 can cause low iron.. so I am guessing THAT is why..

Now I know. .and I have started my shots again..

Christmas Tree shopping

I was off ths weekend, so Jr the kids and I loaded up and drove to a place where you can cut down your own tree. When I was growing up I remember going every year and tagging our tree early and then going back at the beginning of Dec and cuttingit down ourselves.

Since JR and I have been married we have never been near a place where we could do that, until this year.. so we finally did it.. Took us awhile to pick a tree kids were fighting over which one to get.. finally I said I AM PICKING and I picked one.. Jr cut it, Jenna pushed it over so it would fall, and Mycah and Kendra carried it back to the car.. and I took pictures the whole time :)

Day off

SO today is my day off. I asked for it off because Kendra has an ortho appointment late afternoon, sooo.. I lucked out when Mycah's dr scheduled his ultra sounds for today.. SO this morning, I got the kids up and off to school. Mycah and I drove Jenna to school since it is SUPER cold here in the mornings..

After dropping her off, I went by the hospital on base, to TRY and get kendras prescription refilled. I DO NOT have the bottle it came in, so I did not know the RX number. So I was just going to walk into the pharmacy and tell them I needed it filled. Well afew weeks ago when I tried this, the lady at the main desk informed me that you can ONLY call in your refills.. GRRR so I decide I will just go in and ask them for the number so I can call it in. So I take a number and have like 30 minutes and getting no where, I take a form that has the number, and I can call and talk to someone instead of waiting.. but they dont open until 9am.. so I leave.. later after 9 I call and I talk to a guy who is very nice and gives me her prescription number, just so I can hang up and call back and enter it in the automatic message.. WHY couldnt he just enter it in the computer for me?????? Anyways, at least it will be ready tomorrow.

I took Mycah to get his ultrasound done. I hate that they wont tell you anything.. they take a million photos and sometimes show you what things are (she pointed out his ribs, his gall bladder, kidney..etc..) then tells us it will take 2-3 days to get read and to follow up with our dr.. GRR

I took mycah to school and Jr and I met for lunch. Will be leaving in an hour or so to go get kendra.

Gallbladder

Well, tomorrow Mycah goes to the hospital for ultra sounds to see if he is having problems with his gallbladder. The blood and urine tests he did in the ER the one night have elevated levels of something, and when we followed up with his regular DR she said she did not want to rule out his gallbladder until we did more tests. So they did some more blood work. WHen that came back they ordered ultra sounds, which is tomorrow.

He has been feeling ok.. then again this weekend, he was supposed to spend the night at a friends house, and he ended up coming home, said his stomach hurt.. he was fine after awhile. Then this morning, he was fine and went to school but within an hour, the nurse had called me at work, mycah was in the nurses office throwing up.

I was looking up gallbladder stuff online and alot of it sounds like him. He is having specific pain in his upper stomach alittle to the right.. and he is throwing up for no reason, mainly after he eats, with no other waring.. he is over weight, which can cause problems too.

I had mine removed when I was 20 years old.. I remember the pain like it was yesterday..

anyways. I will keep everyone informed :)

Saturday Morning

It is 9am and I am the only one awake in the house. I have been sitting downstairs for afew hours on my computer. Sitting on a computer can actually get very boring. I checked my Email, I checked my myspace, read my comments and blogs. I checked the weather, looked to see if anyone had updated their blogspot.. so then I just started reading random peoples blogs.

You can find some interesting things out there. One I came across inspired me to write this blog. So I have been up for afew hours, alone, and havent talked a word yet.I cant say I go very often in silence. Just my thoughts running through my head.My thoughts are everywhere. I am watching the news, reading blogs, thinking about Christmas, and Thanksgiving which is coming soon.

The dogs are up, that is why I am up so early on a Saturday. Actually they are all back to sleep.. lol. One is on the couch next to me sleeping, one has curled up in a chair and another on a blanket we have set out for them. So its pretty quiet.

Yesterday I finished my training yesterday alittle early, but my manager called me and asked if I was willing to come to work to cover for a girl who was sick. I said OK. I had some free time between training and work, so Kendra and I drove to starbuck which is about 30 minutes away. I LOVE the white chocolate hot and frozen.. and I hate trying to pick which one to get. It was little chilly out, but I wanted a cold one.. so.. I got BOTH!! I drank the frozen one and saved the hot one. I put it in the fridge.. so this morning.. I have a nice hot White Choco Mocha from Starbucks as I sit here on my computer alone in silence..

I need to enjoy this time while I can, because soon the kids will be up, the flighting will begin, the weather is alittle crappy, so I am not sure if everyone will be stuck inside all day.. or if they will wander out anyways.

Its so hard to believe the year is almost over. What a long year it has been. It was s long stressful middle of the year, with the move, lackof job, hospital stays, setting up a new house.. but looks like the year is coming to a great end for us.

OK enough of my random thoughts and ramblings. I miss you all and love you all.. wish we could be together for the holidays!

The Crab Shack

Jr has been wanting to go to the Crab Shack here on Tybee Island. Its about an hour from our house. Well this weekend Mycahs Boyscout troop went to Savannah on a walking tour or Down Town Savannah, for the Haunted Savannah Tour. That did not go so well, but it was a nice try. Afterwards, the 5 of us went to the Crab Shack. I am just not a major one for seafood, but let me tell you, Kendra and Jenna.. they will be EXPENSIVE dates when they start dating. They both got the King Snow Crab Legs and Shrimp.. they had to peel the shrimp themselves.. and crack the crab legs. Jenna was doing a great job but I helped her out after alittle while. I got a Shrimp and Crab Augrautin, which was "interesting", Mycah got a rib platter which he liked, and JR got a local platter of Shrimp, sausage, potatoes and corn.. we had a great time. Outside they also have alligators.. which you can feed, but since the weather is getting colder they dont eat, so we were unable to feed them.. here are some pics :)

Death of a hamster

Today Mycah came home from school and found his hamster dead in its cage :( He was very sad and sent me a phone text message with a picture of the dead animal saying RIP. I called him and he was crying. I FINALLLLLY let him get a hamster for his 14th birthday. He had been asking for years. He had it about 5 months. He took good care of her feeding her and changing the food, water and wood shavings..

So tonight we drove to petsmart and got him a new one. The last one was a mini hamster. 2 inches at its largest.. this one is a small hamster no bigger then 4 inches.

Warriors Walk

Here on this base we are at, they have a wonderful memorial for soldiers who have been killed while in Iraq. There is a website called Wreaths 4 wounded warriors. In December they lay wreaths on all the trees. Here is a link where you can go and see what it looks like www.w4ww.org

Warriors Walk was started in 2003 during Operation Iraqi Freedom. When a soldier assigned or attached to the 3d Infantry Division was killed in action, a tree was planted in their honor along Warriors Walk. Since that first deployment the 3d Infantry Division has been deployed to Iraq 3 times. Each month, a ceremony is held to dedicate the trees of the fallen soldiers for that month. As of October 2008 there were 417 trees planted along Warriors Walk. If you have never been to this hallowed ground, you should come and walk among the trees, read the names and see the mementoes that family and friends have left in remembrance of their loved ones who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Our goal is to honor the sacrifice of the soldiers and their families.

Rifle Team

Mycah tried out for the rifle team last week, with JROTC. He found out yesterday that he did make the team. He is very excited. I am happy for him. He seems to be doing much better with friends and stuff here. He has been hanging out with friends in the neighborhood and has even been talking to a girl. She might go to the Military Ball with him in December. It is definaly nice to see him happy. Over the years he has had such a rough time with friends and kids at school. It was just starting to get better in missouri when we moved. Starting here there were some rough spots but, every day seems better.

Kendra is sick again. She got sick right after she got to GA. She passed it to Jenna, then JR and I got a very mild case of it, and then Mycah got really sick.. now Kendra has it again. She had to go to the ER last time because she could not breath. They did a breathing treatment on her and gave her meds and an inhaler.. she had bronchitis.. She is home again today, I have not taken her in to get seen. I am hoping with some rest and fluids and some meds, she will feel better..

3 days until JR comes home!!

Kids Halloween

Tonight the kids dressed up. Jenna went trick or treating with me since she can not be out without me after 6pm. Mycah went with the neighbor boy and also took a friends dog for a walk with him, dressed as darth vader (the dog not mycah) and Kendra threw on her forma dress my mom bought her last year (yeah mom, thanks see she wore it again!!) and she put a crown on her head.. and she was a princess. She handed out candy for me :) YEAH KENDRA!! She said lots of little kids were getting there pics with her.. I wouldnt doubt it, she did look wonderful and just like a princess.

Halloween at work..

Today my bank branch did the Theme of Monopoly. We worked on decorations and we all dressed up with SOMETHINg to do with Monopoly. I wasw a train conductor to represent the rail roads. One guy was a police man and one girl was the jail bird. Another girl was a bag of money, and another girl wore a sash for the banker. It was lot of fun and we had a great time working today. late night ramblings

Well Jr has been gone about 2 weeks. UGH, it seems like so much longer and yet still a week to go :(. How come when he is home I am bitchy and moody, and when he is gone I miss him so much. How come every song on the radio no matter what it is about, reminds me of him..? So sad. We havent gotten to talk but like 5 minutes every night. He took his laptop but his internet isnt working on it.. we even had a computer geek come to the house he charges $60 PER HOUR and was at our house over 3 hours.. well even he could not fix it.. so he did not even charge us. On the other hand, he took Jrs old lap top (mycahs computer) and took a look at it.. it needs a whole new mother board.. over $500.. would be better off just getting him a new computer.. guess he will have to wait.

Jenna has been doing spirit week all week at school. Monday was Red Ribbon Week Kick off.. wear red. So she got to wear her red dress that she always wants to wear, but I never let her, its too nice..LOL.. used to be Kendras, and kendra does not like seeing jenna in it (kendra was very glad to find out jenna could not fit into her leather pants I saved..lol) anyways.. so she wore her red dress, then Tuesday was camouflage day. She wore jeans and her camo tshirt.. plus she had on a long sleeve black shirt under it cause it was COLD.. then I had a camo jacket that was alittle big on her, BUT it was a jacket were the sleeves unzip and it becomes a camo vest.. which that fit her fine.. so she wore it too. Wednesday was sports day. She wore jeans, another long sleeved T shirt and one of Jrs baseball jerseys with HAMLIN on the back.. and the number 28.. its our special number, everything is he 28th.. WE first kissed June 28, Jr joined the army July 28, jr left for basic Oct 28, we got married Dec 28, my last day in Cali before I moved away to be with Jr Feb 28, Jenna was born July 28, Jr left for Iraq April 28. OK so anyways, she wore his jersey which i knotted in the back to make it shorter and tighter on her. Today was tropical day. DId you know this time of the year you CAN NOT find anything tropical.. so I went with tropical colors, which wasnt easy either. She had a pair of jeans, a pretty aqua blue shirt with some flowers on it.. plus over the shirt she had a BRIGHT pink fuzzy vest.. and in her hair were fake hair waves from a pony tail holder.. in pink, blue, orange green.. tomorrow is super hero day. She has a wonderwoman cape.

At work we are doing a Monopoly theme. I have been working on stuff all week. WE did a fake board that is HUGE. We made Title Deeds and Jail and Parking (will take pics tomorrow). I am dressing up as a Train Condutor (for the rail roads!) Another girl is being a money bag, another girl is going to be "the banker" and wear a sash with something about a banker on it. and the other guy is gunna be a policy officr. It should be fun.

Ok wel time for bed its after 11pm. gotta get to work EARLY tomorrow! BYE

Blood work

I have had to get my blood drawn for afew weeks now, maybe a month. But trying to prep to get it done is very hard work. First off I had to not eat or drink anything other then water for 12 hours.. IMPOSSIBLE for me to do. I just can not go that long without eating at least one bite of something. I normall have a light snack like Apples and cheese or some beef jerky at like 10pm or 11pm, depending on if I worked until 10pm.. ok so by having a snack that late I would have to wait until 10-11am the next day to do blood work... YEAH RIGHT .. do you know how hard it is, to NOT take a bite of Jennas breakfast when I make it for her in the morning??

SO last night was the night for me.. I took a muscle relaxer and went to bed by 930pm.. it was SOO hard to not take a bite of something.. I got jenna up and off to school.. did not take a bite of her breakfast, even though it smelled WONDERFUL!!

I went to the clinic to have my blood drawn. It was ordered from my original NON military surgeon from missouri. I got a letter in the mail and an order for Labs. Well i guess some of the blood work confused the lady because she had to go across the hall and ask someone about something. After about a 15 minute total wait I went into the lab, she rolled out the white labels I gave her.. WOW it was like 3-4 feet long.. SERIOUSLY.. like the length of a yard stick at least. Then she started pulling vials from the shelf.. and then she had to go ask someone about something too .. (guess they dont do a certain one very often).. as she was gone, I counted my vials.. 13!! 13 freaking tubes of blood they were taking from me.

She came back and we got started. My blood wasnt pumping too fast. About tube 3 she seemed to be having problems.. she pulled another from the shelf and tried it.. guess it was the tube itself.. but boy it took forever to get it all done.

After the lab I stopped by the starbucks coffee stand in the hospital. It was decent.

I went to the pharmacy and got mine and mycahs meds.. (I havent had my B12 shot since MAY.. supposed to inject it monthly).

I am now home, its 945am and I am headed back to bed, becuase my meds are still kicked in from last night!

Mycah Update

Well I havent posted about Mycah in awhile, so I will update.

I had a DRs appointment scheduled for Friday last week, so I called and asked if I could get him an apppointment also, which they said yes. My appointment was at 11, so they said be there around 103o with him.

It was a LONG morning to start with. I had to take Jenna to school, and I had forgotten Kendra needed a cake for school, so I ran to the store as soon as I dropped Jenna off. I made Kendra her pinepple upside down cake, and I made sure everything was ready for work that evening.

Mycah and I dropped off the cake at the school and we headed to our appointment. I was running late, and the weather was rainy, so I called ahead and let them know we were running late but on our way.. they said no problem. SO we get there about 10 minutes late around 1040 maybe 1045. There was one other person in the waiting room when we got there. I think 2 other people came in while we were there.. we waited until 1:00 until they FINALLY saw us..ugh.. we were there 2 hours waiting. I had to be to work by 2.. I finally asked if it was gunna be much longer cause I didnt have time to sit around..

Finally the PA comes in. The DR wasnt even there. So we saw some young girl, who I did think was nice.

It was mine and Mycahs first time at this DR so they did a history on each of us.

I will update you on me first: My blood pressure was AWSOME, best its been in along time. My weight was good.. it has been the same now for 2 full years. I am 80lbs down from my start weight 3 years ago. :) I got a refill of my B12 shots, so Jr can start giving me them again. I havent had one since MAY!!!

Mycah is 5foot 9inches and 193lbs. His blood pressure was good too. She went over the lab work from the ER with me and she was saying his liver levels were alittle up. She said it could have been because he was sick OR she mentioned it might be his gallbladder. She said that he is alittle young for that, but he is over weight and a big kid and that makes it a risk too. So she re did his blood work.. to see where the liver levels were at now.. With his being sick, severe stomach pain and also when she was pressing on that area he was in alot ot pain. We will be doing an ultra sound also.

She said he sounded good, his lungs, but to continue the anti biotics. His ears looked good minus the wax.. At home he is feeling better. His cough is almost gone completely. As you can see from the pics he had a good time this weekend.

He was very helpful in cleaning today..

Things are getting back to normal..
